About Fotofab

Fotofab makes custom thin metal components using photochemical machining, also called chemical etching. Its published offerings include screens, shims, flat springs, electrical contacts and shielding parts. The process removes selected material from sheet metal to create fine features and complex flat geometries. The Chicago company supports prototype and production work and offers secondary forming and finishing. Diffusion bonding joins etched sheet layers into more complex components. Engineers can submit a drawing and project requirements through its quote page to discuss the appropriate material, part geometry and manufacturing sequence.
